Vitamix Review

The Vitamix blender is the Mercedes of blenders, oh so I've heard. For years I had been debating about getting a Vitamix blender. I just couldn't justify the hefty price tag. I mean "$400 for a blender, really?"

I purchased a Ninja blender and used that for many years, but I still coveted the emphasis Vitamix blender. I used my Ninja blender 3-4 times a week but found that my kiddos did not like the smoothies I would make them. I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Vitamix 5300 at Costco, so it was much less than other retailers.

I chose the cherry red blender as big things were coming to my kitchen, and I was not disappointed. My first smoothie had spinach, half an apple, bananas, strawberries and almond milk. I blended as my kids were at the kitchen table anxiously waiting to taste the smoothie. Each child took a sip of the smoothie, and they were all smiles. I was amazed how smooth the texture was, even with half an apple and spinach. With my old blender it would blend the smoothie but the texture was thick and clumpy regardless if I blended it longer.

Since purchasing the Vitamix, I've been able to sneak in more veggies into my kid's diet; they have not clue that veggies are in the smoothie. With that alone, the price tag was worth it. But I have also used it more than my old blender. I even blended a cafe mocha iced coffee. It was divine and the texture was perfect. Overall the family is getting a lot of use of this blender, and if you have little ones, you may consider making the investment. It's worth its hefty price tag. I purchased the 5300 model, but they also have other models.
